Think, Make, Create (TMC) Carts – Powered by Curiosity & Built for Exploration
Our Think, Make, Create (TMC) Carts are mobile makerspaces designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and bring hands-on STEM learning directly to afterschool programs across South Dakota. Developed in partnership with South Dakota 4-H Extension, these carts are packed with engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and materials tailored to school-age youth. Each cart is themed around a unique area of STEM—Engineering, Electronics, or Construction—allowing students to explore real-world skills through playful experimentation, teamwork, and problem-solving. Whether stationed in a rural school or rolled into a community center, TMC Carts help build confidence and spark a lifelong interest in STEM.
Available Carts

Engineering TMC Cart
The Engineering Cart challenges students to think like inventors and problem-solvers. Packed with materials that encourage design thinking, critical analysis, and iteration, youth will explore concepts like simple machines, force and motion, and structural design. Through creative, open-ended builds and challenges, students learn how to test ideas, adapt solutions, and think like real engineers in a hands-on and supportive environment.

Electronics TMC Cart
The Electronics Cart lights up young minds by introducing them to circuits, conductivity, and the foundations of programming. With tools like snap circuits, LED kits, and coding games, students will explore how electronics power the world around them. This cart makes the invisible world of electricity both visible and fun—empowering kids to become makers of modern technology, not just users.

Construction TMC Cart
The Construction Cart helps students roll up their sleeves and dive into the world of building. Using tools like real kid-safe hammers, levels, and building kits, youth engage in projects that combine measurement, geometry, and hands-on skills. From designing to assembling simple structures, students learn how to plan, measure, build, and troubleshoot—developing both practical know-how and the confidence to take on real-world projects.
